[4] - GAMEPLAY:Stages & Matchmaking

Golf King - World Tour is composed of nine stages with each stage progressively unlocking as the player earns more and more trophies (see resources). Each stage requires an entry fee which is paid for using in-game coins (see resources). This entry fee increases exponentially the higher one climbs up through the stages. Winning matches will yield the player a certain number of coins and trophies, the amount of which will increase the higher the stage.

Each stage has its own set difficulty such as more severe wind, faster needle speeds and more vibration in the hit gauges, reduced power when hitting the ball, etc. The player can view these variables in the "rules" tab on each stage. The number of trophies a player is awarded for a victory also differs by stage as well, with the higher stages yielding the player with a greater number. However, the player stands to lose more trophies this same way as well. To disincentivize players from abusing this system, a cap is placed on each level, limiting the total number of trophies a player is able to earn on a given stage.

After selecting a stage, a player is brought to the matchmaking page. Here, the system will automatically match the player up with another player of a similar skill level regardless of the stage one is playing on.
