When the player lands their ball on the green the next step they have to take before sinking their ball into the hole is putting. Putting is done slightly differently from how one makes the rest of their shots. When putting, the player will be given a full guideline as well as an alignment arrow. One must simply pull back on the putter, line the guideline up with the hole (the hole will light up) and then release the putter once the arrows line up with each other.
In some cases, the player will not be able to properly line up the guideline with the hole due to the slope of the terrain or the ball being too far from the hole. In case of a slope, it's a good idea to intentionally misalign the arrows when releasing one’s shot as the moving arrow will indicate how far off course the ball will go, which could be enough to send it into the hole. If a player believes they will not be able to make a successful putt due to the distance to the hole being too far, they can try adding topspin to the ball which may give it the extra distance it needs.
